The aim in drawing up this statement is to indicate how RSE/SPHE will be
implemented in Monasteroris National School. RSE, as part of the SPHE
programme, will develop in accordance with the guidelines as developed by the
National Council for Curriculum Assessment for the Department of Education
and Science.
Our RSE programme was drawn up by the school staff and is based on this policy
statement and the RSE/SPHE curriculum and guidelines.
The RSE policy of our school will be informed by our school’s ethos as defined in
our School Plan.
Monasteroris National School Mission Statement
We, at Monasteroris NS, seek to give our pupils the best possible primary
education. We seek to provide a sound foundation on which further education
can be built. We do this within a Christian context where a spirit of tolerance,
co-operation and an appreciation of individual difference prevail.
